Guwahati : Ashok Singhal, the Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs conducted a crucial meeting on June 10 at Janata Bhawan. The meeting was attended by top officials from departments including Housing and Urban Affairs, Public Works, Water Resources, and the Guwahati Municipal Corporation. The focus of the meeting was on the implementation of the “Mission Flood-Free Guwahati” initiative.
During the meeting, Minister Singhal thoroughly reviewed the progress of the assigned responsibilities of the various departments involved in the mission. The objective is to ensure that the residents of Guwahati do not face severe issues caused by artificial floods during the monsoon season. The Minister provided necessary instructions to the officials to effectively address the challenges faced in the field.
It is important to mention that the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Water Resources Department, Public Works Department, and Guwahati Municipal Corporation have been entrusted with different responsibilities under the Mission Flood-Free Guwahati.
