Dima Hasao Tops in HSLC 2026 Pass Percentage; Cachar Records Lowest

Guwahati: Following the declaration of the HSLC Examination 2026 results, the district-wise pass percentage across Assam has also become clear. According to data released by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), the hill district of Dima Hasao has secured the highest pass percentage in the state, while Cachar district of Barak Valley has recorded the lowest pass percentage this year.

As per the results, 3,356 students appeared from Dima Hasao district, out of which 2,961 students passed, registering a pass percentage of 88.23 percent, the highest in the state.

Sivasagar district secured the second position with a pass percentage of 84.08 percent, where 7,337 students passed out of 8,726 candidates.
Dibrugarh district recorded a 78.46 percent pass percentage, with 11,283 students passing out of 14,380 candidates.

At the bottom of the list is Cachar district, where 12,755 students passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 49.13 percent, the lowest among all districts.

Among other districts, Golaghat recorded a pass percentage of 77.99 percent, with 10,026 students passing out of 12,856 candidates. In Baksa district, 11,437 students passed out of 14,807 candidates, resulting in a 77.24 percent pass rate.
In Kamrup Metro, 10,225 students passed out of 13,289 candidates, registering a 76.94 percent pass percentage.

Similarly, Lakhimpur district recorded a pass percentage of 76.98 percent, with 12,997 students passing out of 16,883 candidates. Nalbari district recorded 76.58 percent, where 8,602 students passed out of 11,233 candidates.

In Jorhat district, 7,898 students passed out of 10,598 candidates, resulting in a 74.52 percent pass rate. Charaideo district recorded 72.27 percent, with 3,208 students passing out of 4,439 candidates, while Udalguri district recorded 72.23 percent, with 6,955 students passing out of 9,629 candidates.
In Kamrup Rural district, 15,524 students passed out of 21,608 candidates, resulting in a 71.84 percent pass percentage.

Among other districts, Dhemaji recorded 67.86 percent, Tinsukia 67.74 percent, and Darrang 66.89 percent. Sribhumi district recorded a 66.26 percent pass percentage, with 11,704 students passing out of 17,663 candidates.

Districts with pass percentages around 65 percent include Barpeta (65.81%), Kokrajhar (65.49%), West Karbi Anglong (65.44%), Karbi Anglong (65.18%) and Chirang (65.06%).

Some districts recorded comparatively lower pass percentages this year. Nagaon district recorded 63.57 percent, with 14,674 students passing, while Goalpara recorded 62.04 percent and Biswanath 61.16 percent.

Districts with pass percentages below 60 percent include Hojai (59.96%), Majuli (59.46%) and South Salmara (59.23%).
Meanwhile, Morigaon recorded 57.97 percent and Sonitpur recorded 56.02 percent.

Among the districts with the lowest pass percentages are Hailakandi (51.81%), Dhubri (50.02%) and Bongaigaon (49.62%), while Cachar remained the lowest with 49.13 percent, highlighting the need for greater academic focus in the district.
