Guwahati: In a developing story, Veer Lachit Sena leader Bikash Axom has surrendered before the Dispur Police Station in Guwahati. He is currently being detained for questioning in connection with an alleged high-profile extortion case.
Earlier, several members of the organisation were arrested by the police in relation to the same case. Authorities have been conducting a detailed investigation to uncover the deeper aspects of the alleged extortion network.
Before surrendering, Bikash Axom took to Facebook and confirmed his decision to cooperate with the police. In his post, he mentioned that he had just watched Zubeen Garg’s much-anticipated film Roi Roi Binale and urged others to experience it as well.
“I had an urge to see the movie. As my imprisonment is practically probable, now, after watching the film, I will assist the police,” he wrote.
Bikash had been on the run for several days after police issued an arrest warrant against him. His social media post has since gone viral, drawing widespread public attention and sparking conversations online.
