Guwahati: The Guwahati Traffic Police have announced special traffic regulations for the upcoming IPL 2025 matches at Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium, Barsapara on March 26 and 30. These measures aim to ensure public safety, smooth traffic flow, and easy movement of emergency vehicles.
Traffic Rules and Restrictions:
- No Goods and Slow Vehicles:
- All commercial and slow-moving vehicles cannot use major roads like G.S. Road, B.K. Kakati Road, A.K. Azad Road, M.G. Road, A.T. Road, Kahilipara Road, and others between 2 PM and midnight on match days.
- One-Way on A.K. Azad Road:
- From 3 PM, traffic will be one-way from Lalganesh Tiniali to Cycle Factory Tiniali.
- No vehicles can move in the opposite direction.
- Vehicle Restrictions on Match Days:
- From 4:30 PM, only vehicles with car passes can use A.K. Azad Road.
- Vehicles without passes will be diverted from Lalganesh Tiniali towards Hayat Hospital, Kahilipara Road.
- One-Way on Kula Basumatary Road:
- From 3 PM, the road will be one-way from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali.
- Vehicles without passes cannot enter from Dhirenpara Tiniali.
- Drop-Off and Parking Rules:
- Vehicles with drop-off passes must leave passengers at Barsapara Tiniali or Dhirenpara Tiniali and park in designated areas.
- Road Closures:
- No vehicles allowed on Mora Bharalu Road (from ACA Stadium or F.A. Road).
- Vehicles on Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path can move only from NH-27 up to Shyam Mandir, then must turn towards Ganeshpara Tiniali.
- No Parking Zones:
- Parking is strictly prohibited on both sides of:
- Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali (Kula Basumatary Road)
- Cycle Factory to Lalganesh Tiniali (A.K. Azad Road)
- Ambari Tiniali to Champabati High School (A.K. Dev Road)
- Parking is strictly prohibited on both sides of:
- Designated Parking Areas:
- One-side parallel parking allowed from Champabati High School to Garchuk (A.K. Dev Road) and Dakhingaon Tiniali towards NEF College (Kanaklata Path).
- VIP and Stadium Exit Rules:
- Vehicles entering ACA Stadium (Gate No. 1B) with VIP passes cannot exit until the match ends.
- After the match, vehicles can exit via:
- Dhirenpara Tiniali (towards Garchuk or Fatasil Ambari).
- Barsapara Tiniali (towards Birubari or Lalganesh).
This restriction will not hamper in any way the movement of emergency vehicles like Fire Tenders, Ambulances, Life Saving Drugs, Vehicles carrying Oxygen Cylinders, School Buses, local residents etc.
The Guwahati Traffic Police urge citizens to follow these rules for a smooth experience on match days.
