The benchmark equity indices concluded Wednesday’s trading session with significant gains. The NSE Nifty 50 climbed 147.50 points or 0.62% to close at 23,868.80, while the BSE Sensex surged 620.72 points or 0.80% to finish at 78,674.25.
Large-cap and Mid-cap stocks led the broader indices, which ended on a mixed note. The Bank Nifty index also posted gains, rising by 264.50 points or 0.50% to settle at 52,870.50. Media and Energy stocks outperformed, leading the sectoral indices, while Metal and Realty stocks declined.
