Guwahati: Sampoorna by Deepjyoti India, a Mumbai-based NGO, launched regular health camps across three old age homes in the city in 2024.

The health camps were conducted at Pramod Memorial Old Age Home (Beltola), Senior Citizens Old Age Home (Hatigaon), and Seneh – Bhabadadevi Memorial Home. Services included general health checkups, eye and ENT camps, dermatology consultations, and yoga sessions to promote overall well-being.

A unique aspect of the initiative was the introduction of medical clowning therapy in collaboration with the Assam Clowning Academy. The therapy aimed to reduce loneliness and bring joy to senior citizens.

Mrs. Deepjyoti Garg stated, “These initiatives have made a significant difference, ensuring happiness and dignity for the elderly.”

Looking ahead, the NGO plans to conduct monthly health camps to provide sustained support. Alongside elderly care, Sampoorna continues to empower women by focusing on their mental health and self-confidence.

The organization’s efforts highlight its commitment to fostering a healthier and more inclusive society.
