Forest officer Asim Das and his team of forest personnel, with the assistance of local residents, reached the spot within half an hour and safely retrieved the python.

The python was released in the deep jungle of the Amsang Wildlife Sanctuary later in the evening. The forest department suspects that the python ventured out of the deep forest in search of food.
