One-Man Inquiry Commission Extends Deadline for Statements on Zubeen Garg’s Death
Guwahati: The One-Man Inquiry Commission probing the circumstances leading to the death of noted Assamese singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore has extended the deadline for public submission of affidavits.
The Commission, headed by Justice Soumitra Saikia of the Gauhati High Court, was constituted by the Government of Assam on October 3, 2025, under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1952. Its mandate includes examining the facts surrounding Garg’s death on September 19, 2025, verifying the sequence of events before and after the incident, and investigating any possible lapses, negligence, foul play, or external factors.
As per the latest public notice, individuals having knowledge of any relevant facts or circumstances must submit duly notarised affidavits along with supporting documents.
Extended Deadline: Till December 12, 2025 (excluding Sundays)
Time:10:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Venue: Office of the One-Man Inquiry Commission, Assam Khadi & Village Industries Board, Maniram Dewan Road, Chandmari, Guwahati-781003.
The Commission has also instructed that persons furnishing statements must provide original or authenticated copies of all supporting documents and details of any additional documents that may need to be obtained from other individuals or authorities.
