Guwahati: The North East Cane and Bamboo Development Council (NECBDC), under the Ministry of DoNER, has joined hands with Amazon India to promote bamboo and cane artisans from the North Eastern Region (NER).

Amazon India’s team visited Byrnihat to explore artisan products and conduct workshops on e-commerce essentials like compliance, inventory management, and advertising. The initiative aims to empower local artisans and self-help groups (SHGs) by connecting them to global markets via the Amazon Karigar Program.

NECBDC’s Managing Director, M.C. Omi Ningshen, highlighted the collaboration’s potential for sustainable growth, while Amazon’s Gaurav Bhatnagar praised the region’s craftsmanship and committed to supporting its global reach.

This partnership is set to preserve traditional crafts, enhance artisan livelihoods, and drive socio-economic development in the North East.
