Guwahati: In a successful operation, a team from Basistha Police Station rescued a 17-year-old girl from Mathurapur under Tihu Police Station in Nalbari district. The minor, who is from Lokhra, Pithaguripahar in Kamrup (Metro), had been missing since April 8 in a suspected kidnapping case.
Police officials informed that the operation was based on leads and a confession given by the accused, identified as Dhruba Barman (28), a resident of Akhra in Nalbari. He was arrested from his home and is currently in police custody.
