Guwahati: Marwari Hospitals inaugurated its state-of-the-art Cath Lab on Monday in the presence of Health and Family Welfare and Irrigation Minister Ashok Kumar Singhal. He formally inaugurated the facility along with Padma Shri Sajjan Bhajanka, Chairman of Star Cement and Century Plyboards.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including Sarat Jain (President, Marwari Hospitals), Kishore Kumar Saboo (General Secretary), Kailash Chandra Lohia (Vice-President), Rakesh Agarwal (Vice-President), Dr J.P. Sarma (Director, Medical Services), Hospital Superintendent Rohit Upadhayay, WC members, hospital staff, and invited guests.
The programme began with a welcome address by President Sarat Kumar Jain. He said it was a historic day for the hospital as it added a world-class Cath Lab to its services. He expressed gratitude to Minister Ashok Singhal for attending as chief guest and for motivating the staff with his presence.
Jain also thanked Padma Shri Sajjan Bhajanka for attending as guest of honour and for donating generously to establish the Cath Lab. He said the new unit will enable the hospital to provide timely cardiac care at an affordable cost, preventing the need to refer serious patients to distant hospitals.
He said the Cath Lab, manufactured by Siemens, features the latest technology with a larger detector suitable for cardiovascular, neurological and radiological interventions. He added that it ensures minimal radiation exposure while offering superior image quality.
Jain also announced upcoming development plans, including an MRI facility, IVF services, the revamping of the Mother & Child Block, and a new Nursing College.
Guest of Honour Padma Shri Sajjan Bhajanka praised Marwari Hospitals for serving the masses with dedication and said contributing to the hospital gave him immense satisfaction.
Chief Guest and Minister Ashok Singhal said Marwari Hospitals ranks among the best healthcare institutions in the Northeast. He said the new Cath Lab will strengthen quality cardiac care for all sections of society, especially the underprivileged. He assured government support to the charitable hospital and said he wants to see it become one of the best in the country.
General Secretary Kishore Kumar Saboo delivered the vote of thanks.
The new Cath Lab will offer a range of services, including Coronary Angiography (CAG), Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA), Renal Angiography, Peripheral Angiography, Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), Permanent Pacemaker Implantation (PPI), AICD, CRT-D, CRT-P, ASD/VSD/PDA closure procedures, along with ECHO, TMT and Holter monitoring.
The department is headed by Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist Dr Kartik Jaiswal, MD, DNB (Cardio), available from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday.
