Lovely Professional University Opens Permanent Student Help Centre in Guwahati
Guwahati: Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab has opened a permanent outreach centre in Guwahati to support students from the Northeast. The new centre is located at Ambari, opposite Rabindra Bhawan, and covers 1200 square feet.
The centre will offer free counselling, help with entrance tests, and full guidance for students who want to study at LPU. Every year, over 1,000 students from the Northeast join LPU in courses like Engineering, Agriculture, and many others.
“This new centre will help students connect easily with the university. Earlier, we held temporary camps in the region. Now, students can visit anytime for free support,” said Bhuvan Sareen, Assistant Director and Zonal Head of East India, LPU.
The centre will also provide free psychoanalytic sessions for school students from Class 8 onwards. These sessions will help students choose the right career based on their interests and strengths.
The opening ceremony was attended by well-known guests, including literary awardee Anjan Sarma, USTM Pro VC Balendra Kr. Das, climate activist Rituraj Phukan, and Assam Inland Water Transport Chairman Prabir Kr. Das.
“Students from the Northeast feel at home at LPU. They enjoy good education and a strong support system from their fellow students and alumni,” said Khirod Kumar Saikia, Territory Head, LPU.
The Guwahati centre is now open for students and parents to get help, counselling, or appear for entrance tests.
