Guwahati: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kamrup organized the live streaming of the launch of the Prime Minister Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMKDDY).
The event was graced by Hemanga Thakuria, MLA of Palasbari constituency, as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included K. K. Bora, Organizing Secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh; Dr. G. Kadirvel, Director of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VI, Guwahati; Dr. H. C. Bhattacharyya, Ex-Director of Extension Education, AAU, Jorhat; Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal Scientist, ICAR-ATARI; Dr. D. N. Kalita, Executive Director, CBBO, AAU-HRS, Kahikuchi; and Dr. Samiran Pathak, Principal Scientist, AAU-HRS, Kahikuchi.
As part of the programme, a Farmer-Scientist Interaction session was held, where farmers shared their experiences and suggestions. A Swachhata Pledge was also taken by all dignitaries and participants under the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Ilakshy Deka, SMS (Animal Science) and In-charge Head of KVK Kamrup, along with the support of the entire KVK team.
Around 300 farmers and farm women from different parts of Kamrup district participated in the programme.
