Hyderabad— Assamese filmmaker and director Dr. Junmani Devi Khaund received a special felicitation at the ‘Telangana–North East Cultural Connect’ festival held at Prasad Theatre in Hyderabad. Telangana Governor Dr. Jishnu Dev Varma and Culture Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy presented the honour.
The Telangana Government organised the festival to strengthen cultural exchange between Telangana and the Northeastern states. During the event, Dr. Khaund announced that the third Niri9 International Film Festival will take place on 20 and 21 December 2025 in Hyderabad.
The upcoming festival will host noted guests and jury members from the Telugu film industry. Dr. Khaund also said the opening and closing ceremonies will feature performances showcasing Telangana’s traditional music and dance.
The Telangana Government’s Cultural Department and the Governor’s Office have assured full support for hosting the festival. Dr. Khaund said that preliminary discussions have progressed smoothly.
