Guwahati: Following the incident in which a water pipe burst in Guwahati, leading to the unfortunate death of a woman and injuries to five people, the Assam government took action on Friday by forming a committee consisting of three members to conduct an investigation.

According to a notification, the committee will be chaired by Pabitra Ram Khaund, Secretary of Housing and Urban Affairs. The other two members are Ramendra Sundar Choudhury, a retired Secretary of Public Health Engineering, and Sanjai Kumar Mahanta, a retired chief engineer from the Irrigation Department.

The committee has been given a timeline of three days to submit its report, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
