Guwahati : The supervisor of AK Construction Company, identified as B. Balaji, was arrested by the Guwahati Police on june 9. This action came after a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against him.
Following Balaji’s interrogation, he was presented before the court by the police.
According to reports, the construction company had allegedly undertaken work without obtaining permission from the Transport Department and the Public Works Department.
The incident leading to these developments occurred in Guwahati’s Ganeshguri area, where a tragic accident claimed the life of a student on Thursday. The Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board filed an FIR against AK Construction Company, citing negligence of duty and discrepancies in their work.
It is worth mentioning that AK Construction Company is one of the contractors entrusted with the task of installing pipelines in Guwahati under the JICA-supported water supply project.
