The GMC collaborated with Assam Police and Kamrup’s Veterinary Department team. Officials focused on hygiene and regulatory compliance in meat shops. The drive covered areas like Sarabbhati Chariali and Athgaon Bazar.
They inspected 55 shops, ensuring food safety for customers. Authorities imposed fines totaling Rs. 56,000 on violators. GMC plans more inspections to maintain hygiene standards in Guwahati.
