Guwahati – A team from Basistha Police Station has apprehended a man posing as a CBI officer, identified as Prasanta Bordoloi (40) from Morigaon. He was caught near a Hotel in Beltola, allegedly using fake IDs to impersonate high-ranking officials and extort money from people.
The police seized two fake ID cards and two mobile phones during the arrest.
Currently detained at Basistha Police Station, Bordoloi faces legal action for impersonation and fraud.
