Delhivery Limited has announced a strategic partnership with electric mobility startup RIDEV to deploy 150 high-performance electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its last-mile electrification drive.
The deployment will take place over the next three months across North East India, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The move is aimed at expanding Delhivery’s green logistics operations and reducing dependence on fossil-fuel-based vehicles.
Under the collaboration, an “EV-as-a-Service” leasing model will be introduced to support delivery partners. The model is designed to remove high upfront costs and technical barriers, making it easier for gig workers to adopt electric vehicles.
Delhivery currently operates nearly 1,000 electric two-, three- and four-wheelers in its fleet. The company stated that this initiative marks the beginning of a systematic transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric mobility across its nationwide network.
The announcement follows a pilot project conducted in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, where the use of RIDEV electric two-wheelers resulted in a reduction of 4,260 kilograms of CO₂ emissions. The pilot also led to more than 50 percent reduction in daily operational costs for delivery riders.
Following the current rollout, Delhivery plans to expand the EV deployment in phases to other major cities including Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Goa. The initiative aligns with national clean mobility goals and aims to reduce tailpipe emissions in urban delivery operations.
Company officials said the partnership will strengthen efforts to decarbonize last-mile logistics while improving operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness for delivery partners.
