Jorhat: Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi submitted his nomination papers as the party candidate for the Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency in Assam. Accompanied by key party figures including state unit president Bhupen Kumar Borah and leader of the opposition in the assembly Debabrata Saikia, Gaurav Gogoi, the former deputy leader of the Congress in the outgoing Lok Sabha, formally entered the electoral fray by filing his nomination.

The nomination filing event witnessed the presence of prominent political figures such as Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi, Congress’ Dhubri candidate Rakibul Hussain, as well as MLAs Rekibuddin Ahmed, Nandita Das, and Sibamoni Bora, among others.

Dressed in a traditional white kurta adorned with a ‘gamosa’ draped around his neck, Gaurav Gogoi led a procession from Jorhat Stadium to the office of the returning officer, symbolizing the initiation of his candidacy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
