BPF Sweeps BTC Election 2025, Secures Majority with 28 Seats
Guwahati: The counting of votes for all 40 constituencies of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Election 2025 concluded peacefully today under the supervision of the State Election Commission. The process, which began on September 26, was completed smoothly and strictly followed the prescribed procedures.
In the final tally, the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) emerged as the clear winner, securing 28 out of 40 seats to comfortably form the council. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to win 5 seats, while the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) bagged 7 seats.
The Commission expressed its satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of both polling and counting. It extended gratitude to election officials, security forces, political parties, and voters for their cooperation in ensuring a free, fair, and transparent election.
With this result, BPF is set to lead the BTC once again, strengthening its hold in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
