Guwahati: Borluit Productions has released the official poster of its first Assamese feature film Dipholu. The film will release in theatres on August 21, 2026, across Assam and some other cities in India.
The poster shows a rural Assamese setting and introduces the main cast of the film. The production house says the film tells a story that connects strongly with Assamese culture and local life.
Nekib directs the film. Jekiv produces it and also composes the music. Nekib also writes and edits the film. Debojit Bora writes the screenplay and dialogues. Uttam Kalita handles the cinematography.
The film features a large cast including Amrita Gogoi, Subrat Deori, Arun Nath, Arun Hazarika, Purnada Hazarika, Rajib Dowari, Jyotishman Borah, Kanika Nath, Anirban Kalita, Ankur Baidya, Dr. Hitesh Baruah, Simashree Bora, Priyanshi Kashyap and Dibya Jyoti Borah. Veteran actress Mridula Barua appears in a special guest role.
The music plays a special role in the film. Famous Assamese singer Zubeen Garg sings two duet songs in the film. He sings one song with Rupali Kashyap and another with Gayatri Hazarika. These songs are among the last recordings of Zubeen Garg before his death on September 19, 2025. Gayatri Hazarika also recorded one of her final songs for this film before her passing on May 16, 2025.
Director Nekib said, “Zubeen Garg was not just a singer. He was the heartbeat of Assam. We feel honoured to include one of his last songs in our film.”
Deepak Dey and Uday Shankar lead the choreography. Pankaj Soram directs the action scenes. Juri Kalita designs the costumes. Pijumoni Sharma leads the makeup team. The team manages production, editing, colour work, and publicity with support from several professionals.
Producer Jekiv said, “Dipholu shows the soul of Assam. We have worked with love and honesty. We hope people will connect with the film.”
After making successful short films like Rong – The Colour and Akaax Bisari – Into the Sky, Borluit Productions now enters full-length cinema with Dipholu. The team expects strong support from the audience when the film releases on August 21, 2026.
