Guwahati: Bijuli Kalita Medhi, currently serving as the Vice President of BJP Assam Pradesh, is set to contest in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024 from Guwahati. This announcement comes as the Bharatiya Janata Party unveils its list of 11 candidates vying for parliamentary seats.
Former APCC Working President Rana Goswami Joins BJP
Medhi, known for her prominent role within the BJP, brings with her a strong educational background from institutions such as Holy Child School, Handique Girl’s College, and Gauhati University. Transitioning from her career as a teacher, she entered the political arena following her victory in the 2013 Guwahati Municipal Corporation Election after resigning from her teaching role. Subsequently, she assumed the position of Deputy Mayor of Guwahati in 2016.
