Baihata Chariali: A meeting of local journalists from the Baihata Chariali region was held today at the Rural Library Auditorium in Kamrup district. Chaired by senior journalist Sarada Prasad Sharma, the meeting focused on upholding the values and responsibilities of journalism in the region.
During the meeting, a new executive committee of the Baihata Chariali Journalist Association was formed. Manab Deka was elected as President, Deepak Kumar Kalita as Vice President, Ziaul Haque as General Secretary, Chaleh Chowdhury as Assistant Secretary, and Pulak Chamua as Literary and Cultural Secretary.
The association called for public support and cooperation to move forward with honesty and commitment in their journalistic duties. The newly formed team aims to strengthen local media and promote ethical reporting.
It was also announced that the association will celebrate the birth anniversary of Sudhakantha Bhupen Hazarika on September 8, as part of its cultural initiatives.
