Assam Launches Orunodoi 2.0 to Benefit 7.3 Lakh New Beneficiaries

Assam’s Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, initiated the distribution of Orunodoi Cards to new beneficiaries in Kokrajhar.

Under Orunodoi 2.0, approximately 7.3 lakh new beneficiaries will be included in the scheme, raising the total number to 26 lakh. Dr. Sarma emphasized the importance of direct benefit transfer schemes for the underprivileged and announced that an additional five lakh beneficiaries would be added to Orunodoi in the coming days, making it the largest direct fund transfer initiative in the state. He also mentioned the government’s plans for other welfare schemes and development initiatives in the region. The improved law and order situation in the BTR region was praised, allowing for increased development efforts. The program was attended by various dignitaries, including Minister Ashok Singhal and CEM BTC Pramod Boro.
