Guwahati – Assam down town University (AdtU) marked World Diabetes Day and National Children’s Day with a Mega Health Camp Series, held from November 9th to 13th, 2024. Organized by the Faculty of Paramedical Science and supported by AdtU’s Extension and Outreach Club, the camp aimed to boost health awareness and provide essential healthcare services to school children and residents in the university’s adopted villages.
The week-long camp took place on campus and in nearby villages, offering services like vision screening, physiotherapy assessments, nutrition counseling, dental hygiene checks, and blood pressure and blood sugar testing. Over 200 community members and 90 on-campus participants benefited from early health screenings and preventive care.
“This camp series emphasized preventive health care, delivering critical screenings and personalized advice to the community,” said a university representative.
The health camp provided a valuable learning experience for AdtU students and faculty, allowing them to practice hands-on healthcare while building connections with local communities.
