Guwahati: The exam dates for the Assam Class 10 (HSLC) and Class 12 (HS) board examinations for 2026 have been released. As per the official update, the HSLC Exam 2026 will start on February 10, 2026, and the HS Exam 2026 will start on February 11, 2026.

Official Notification Details

According to the notification:

  • The HSLC (Matric) examination begins on February 10, 2026.
  • The Higher Secondary (HS) final examination begins on February 11, 2026.

Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has announced the dates for the 2026 HSLC (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (HS) final examinations. As declared today, the HSLC examinations will begin on February 10, while the HS final exams will start on February 11.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made the announcement through a post on social media platform ‘X’ on Wednesday morning and conveyed his best wishes to all students appearing for the exams.

Additional Instructions
Students will get 10 minutes extra to read question papers:
• Morning shift: 8:50 AM to 9:00 AM
• Afternoon shift: 1:20 PM to 1:30 PM
Practical exams will be held between January 27 to February 7, 2026 in all institutions under ASSEB, Division 2.
It is noteworthy that the examinations are scheduled early in the year to avoid any clash with the 2026 Assam Assembly Elections. The elections are expected to be held only after both exams conclude.
SEBA conducted the High School Leaving Examination for the first time in 2025.
