Guwahati: Sudhir Verma took over as Inspector General of SSB Frontier Guwahati. He was warmly welcomed with a Guard of Honour and a presentation of traditional Assamese Gamcha and a bouquet by DIG B.S. Jaswal. Verma interacted with officers and officials, encouraging professionalism. DIG H.B.K. Singh briefed him on the frontier’s functioning and operational readiness.
Verma, a 1993 batch Direct Entry Officer of SSB, succeeded Rajinder Kumar Bhumbla, who transferred to Force Headquarters in New Delhi. Verma, a recipient of the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service, stressed the importance of security and cooperation in border management.
