Guwahati: An enquiry committee has been swiftly formed at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) following allegations of physical assault on a patient by Dr. Abhisekh Mahajan, a Post Graduate Trainee (PGT) in the Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&G) department. The committee, comprised of esteemed doctors and faculty members of GMCH, has been tasked with investigating the incident. Their mandate includes submitting a report on their findings within 24 hours.

Dr. B. P. Das, Professor and Head of Department (HOD) of O&G, GMCH, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the committee. Dr. Kanakeswar Bhuyan, Professor and HOD of Surgery, GMCH, and Dr. Pankaj Adhicari, Professor and HOD of Dermatology, GMCH, have been appointed as members, with Dr. Adhicari serving as the Member Secretary. Additionally, Dr. Pradip Kr Das, Additional Superintendent of GMCH, will also serve as a member of the committee.
