Guwahati: A large number of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and workers protested today, calling for action on the issue of artificial floods in Guwahati. Led by AAP leaders Romen Borthakur and Anurupa Dekaraja, the protest took place in Rukminigaon, urging the state government and the Guwahati Municipal Corporation to address the problem.

Romen Borthakur demanded an immediate resolution to the flood problem, reminding Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma of his election promises. He criticized Minister Ashok Singhal, stating, “If there is a flood due to water coming from Meghalaya in Guwahati city, it is the responsibility of the state government to prevent the flood.”
Anurupa Dekaraja called for the resignation of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Along with Borthakur and Dekaraja, AAP leaders Saurav Kalita, Praveen Sharma, and Jeetu Deka, among others, waded through the floodwaters to assess the situation and support the affected residents of Rukminigaon.
