Bhukhan Pathak’s journey goes far beyond that of a typical digital creator. It is an inspiring story of a man who rose from humble beginnings in Barpeta, Assam, to become one of the most courageous cultural ambassadors representing Northeast India on the global stage.

Since 2016, he has emerged as a leading influencer from Northeast India and a pioneer in the Assamese digital space, particularly on YouTube and Facebook. He is recognized as one of the first Assamese YouTubers to receive the Silver Play Button and is widely appreciated for creating high-quality Assamese content for a global audience.

Throughout his journey, Bhukhan did not have privilege, institutional backing, or government support. What he carried instead was strong determination, deep cultural pride, and the courage to take Assam’s story to the world—often at significant personal risk.

Bhukhan began his digital journey in 2016 with the goal of promoting Assamese voices and culture through social media. He launched his YouTube channel “Assamese Mixture” to highlight Assamese entertainment, culture, cinema, and personalities that are often overlooked by mainstream media. The channel became a popular platform for celebrity interviews, film updates, box office analysis, and authentic Assamese cultural stories, attracting viewers from India and abroad.

Today, his digital reach reflects strong audience trust and credibility:

  • YouTube (Assamese Mixture): 11.40 lakh subscribers
  • Facebook: 6 lakh followers
  • Instagram: 1.58 lakh followers

What truly sets Bhukhan Pathak apart is his role as a cultural ambassador. Unlike many influencers who focus on luxury and trends, Bhukhan prioritizes culture over comfort. He travels without government or institutional sponsorship, often risking his health, safety, and livelihood to tell unheard stories. His international journeys are not just travel vlogs—they are cultural missions.

From Assam to Russia, Bhukhan explored Moscow and St. Petersburg while proudly showcasing Assam’s Gamosa as a cultural symbol. His boldest journey was to Siberia and Yakutsk, the coldest inhabited city in the world, where temperatures dropped to –60°C. Despite extreme conditions, he wore traditional Assamese dhoti and Gamosa and visited a local school in Yakutia. There, he introduced students to Assam’s tea heritage, Bihu festival, and the one-horned rhinoceros. For many students, it was their first time hearing about Assam and Northeast India.

He also promoted Assamese culture in Singapore and Malaysia. In Sri Lanka, he visited Colombo, Kandy, and Galle, including the World Heritage site Ashok Vatika, where he connected Assam’s identity with broader Asian heritage.

During the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, Bhukhan carried the Indian National Flag and Assam’s Gamosa to highlight the state on a global platform. His interaction with the Assam Society in Qatar created an emotional bond with the diaspora and strengthened cultural identity beyond sports.

His journey to China was driven by historical curiosity. He visited the birthplace of Ahom king Chaolung Sukapha and documented historical connections influencing Assam’s identity. His vlogs covered the Ahom legacy, the Great Wall of China, and everyday life in China. Notably, he visited Wuhan during the COVID-19 outbreak. Despite restrictions and pressure to stop filming, he remained committed to presenting an honest and balanced perspective.

In 2026, Bhukhan expanded his global journey to Africa. He traveled through Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, interacting with indigenous communities such as the Maasai, Hadzabe (considered among the last hunter-gatherer tribes), and Datoga tribes. He introduced Assamese music and Bihu traditions to local communities and even shared songs of Zubeen Garg.

Interestingly, Tanzanian content creator Kili Paul, known for Bollywood lip-sync videos, engaged in discussions about Indian politics and acknowledged Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma—showing growing global awareness of Assam.

During his visit to Bangladesh, Bhukhan observed strong cultural and political awareness about Assam and its leaders, reinforcing his belief that Assam’s influence extends beyond its borders.

Bhukhan Pathak’s work has earned millions of views and deep trust from audiences worldwide. His recognitions include:

  • Excellence in Digital Content Creation – Radio Mirchi & Byatikram (2025)
  • Rising Star of Northeast
  • Best YouTuber of Assam (2022)
  • 8th National Achiever Award
  • Best YouTube Content Creator of Northeast (2024)
  • ASIANET Icon Award (2024)

Bhukhan Pathak is more than a content creator. He is a risk-taker, storyteller, cultural diplomat, and passionate advocate for Assam. Through every journey and every video, he continues to showcase the pride, heritage, and identity of Assam to the world.
