Expanded Edition of ‘Zubeen Garg…Etyadi’ Released in Guwahati

Guwahati: The expanded edition of the book ‘Zubeen Garg…Etyadi’, dedicated to Assam’s musical icon Zubeen Garg, was released today at the artist’s residence in Kahilipara, Guwahati. The book was formally unveiled by Zubeen’s father, Mohini Mohan Borthakur (Kapil Thakur).

It may be recalled that the first edition of ‘Zubeen Garg…Etyadi’ was published in 2015 on Zubeen Garg’s birthday, edited by Jonak Yugantar Bora. After ten years, the enriched and updated version has now been released.

The book compiles various untold stories, experiences, and notable moments from Zubeen Garg’s life—covering his journey in music, films, and social work. Written by 100 eminent and emerging writers, including his wife Garima Saikia Garg, the collection reflects on Zubeen’s life, philosophy, and artistic vision.

The volume also includes a special interview given by Zubeen Garg in 2006.

The release event was attended by editor Jonak Yugantar Bora, publisher Gokul kalita(B.R. Book Stall, Panbazar), singer Bhadrakanta Das, music director Alap Dudul Saikia, filmmaker Jayanta Bordoloi, cultural journalists Anupam Hazarika, Shibanu Bora, Hemanta Sharma, journalists Nipam Chutia, Chanakya Baruah, Ankuman Bordoloi, and fashion photographer Bikram Borpatra, among others.

Publisher Gokul Kalita informed that the book will soon be available at bookstores across Assam, book fairs, and online platforms.
