Guwahati: The All Assam Research Scholars’ Association (AARSA) has written an open letter to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, urging the state government to immediately advertise and fill vacant Assistant Professor posts in government and provincialised colleges across Assam.

The Association pointed out that no new advertisement has been released for over a year, leading to a shortage of permanent faculty, forcing many colleges to rely on guest lecturers. This delay has also increased unemployment among qualified scholars and created age-related job insecurity for many aspirants.

AARSA stressed that timely recruitment is essential for maintaining academic quality and stability in higher education. The Association appealed to the Chief Minister to take immediate action to resolve the growing crisis affecting the education sector and thousands of deserving candidates.
