Guwahati: Renowned writer Mayur Bora launched the Assamese translation of “Jokrit (Liver) A TO Z” by journalist Kabir Saikia at Nandan Hotel, Guwahati. The book is based on insights from Dr. K. S. Somasekhar Rao of Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad, and aims to raise awareness about liver diseases in Assam.
Former Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, the chief guest, highlighted the growing liver disease cases in the state. Journalist Sanjeev Phukan and inventor Uddhav Bharali also praised the book’s importance. Translator Kabir Saikia said he wrote it in simple language to benefit readers across Assam.
The event was attended by several dignitaries and moderated by journalist Jyotisman Sharma.
