Sikkim: Project Swastik of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) marked the 78th Independence Day with patriotic enthusiasm across Sikkim and North Bengal. Flag hoisting ceremonies were conducted at strategic locations, including Donkayala Pass, Tamze Pass, Doklam, and Nathula on the Line of Actual Control, as well as Pt 4685, the highest peak in East Sikkim. The newly inaugurated Indryani bridge at Singtham also saw a flag hoisting as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative.

In addition to flag hoisting, Project Swastik organized Tiranga marches and runs in prominent locations, including Chungthang, Chandmari, Burtuk, Kalimpong, Kupup, and Nathula. The Swastik Toddler School of BRO contributed to the celebrations with patriotic plays and song competitions, followed by a dental check-up for students.

Project Swastik continues to embody the BRO’s motto, “Connecting Places, Connecting People,” by playing a vital role in the lives of border communities.
