Guwahati: The Association of Registered Pharmacists, Assam (ARPA) on Thursday alleged that Kamal Hassan obtained pharmacist registration using forged documents and said he was arrested by Dispur Police in connection with the case.
Addressing a press conference at the Gauhati Press Club, ARPA members said the arrest followed a complaint filed at Dispur Police Station in Case No. 226/2025 under Sections 318(4), 336(3) and 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
ARPA alleged that Hassan had submitted a fake Higher Secondary certificate and forged internship documents to obtain pharmacist registration. The association also raised questions over his educational qualifications and use of the title “Dr”.
ARPA demanded a detailed investigation into the alleged document forgery and the role of any officials or middlemen who may have been involved in the registration process.
The association also urged police to search the accused’s residence and investigate the source of the alleged forged documents.
The allegations made by ARPA are subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
