Guwahati: A three-day programme titled ‘Zubeen Divas’ begins at Zubeen Khetra in Guwahati today to remember popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.
The programme will bring together people from different communities, groups and cultural backgrounds to pay tribute to the late singer and remember his contribution to Assam’s music and cultural scene.
On the first day, a multi-faith prayer programme will be held at Zubeen Khetra. Representatives of different communities will participate in prayers, music and other programmes according to their respective traditions.
On September 18, a special cultural programme will be organised. Various communities of Assam will present folk dances, folk songs, music and traditional cultural performances as part of the tribute to Zubeen Garg.
The final day, September 19, will feature religious and spiritual programmes, including Asan Pratistha and Bhagawat Path, along with Naam-Prasanga and other religious activities.
A traditional Bhaona performance will also be held in the evening on the final day.
The three-day programme will feature religious, cultural and traditional activities involving different communities, with the aim of remembering Zubeen Garg and his contribution to Assamese music and culture.
