Guwahati: Lovely Professional University (LPU) organised the second edition of its flagship outreach programme, “Experience LPU – A Day of Lifetime Inspiration,” in Guwahati on Sunday, attracting students and parents from across Assam and neighbouring states.
Participants from Guwahati, Shillong, Tezpur, Nagaon, Bongaigaon, Goalpara, Barpeta, Dibrugarh and Dimapur attended the programme to learn about higher education opportunities, career options and scholarship schemes offered by the university.
The event was attended by noted academician, science activist and author Tapan Kumar Sarma as the chief guest. He highlighted the importance of quality education and scientific thinking among young learners.
University representatives including Rajesh Verma, Vishal Sharma, Varun Kumar and Balpreet Singh interacted with students and parents and provided information on admissions, academic programmes, placements, internships, skill development initiatives and international exposure opportunities.
A major highlight of the programme was the distribution of scholarships to deserving students. Scholarships were awarded based on academic performance, achievements in sports and cultural activities, and success in national-level competitive examinations.
The interactive sessions allowed participants to gain a better understanding of LPU’s academic environment, student support systems and career prospects. Students and parents actively participated in discussions and sought guidance on higher education planning.
The programme was coordinated by the LPU Guwahati Office under the leadership of Bhuwan Sareen and Jitendra Kumar Dixit.
Officials said the initiative reflects LPU’s commitment to educational awareness, career guidance and strengthening its engagement with students across the Northeast.
