Golaghat: Marking World Environment Day, Cairn Oil & Gas joined Assam’s ongoing green initiative to plant one crore saplings across the state by organizing a tree plantation drive at its Hazarigaon site, RUDRA, and nearby communities.
As part of the programme, around 350 saplings were planted with the active participation of members of the Village Development Committee (VDC), representatives of the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASLRM), and Cairn employees.
The plantation drive was aimed at promoting environmental conservation and increasing green cover in the region. It also highlighted the importance of community participation in creating a sustainable future.
Cairn stated that the initiative reflects its commitment to protecting the environment, supporting local communities, and contributing to Assam’s broader goal of building a greener and more sustainable state.
