The forum will be organised as part of Naturenomics Week, a sustainability-focused programme involving several leading academic institutions in Assam.

More than 2,000 participants from over 15 countries are expected to attend the event. The forum will bring together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, students, indigenous communities, sustainability experts and innovators.

EHNF 2026 will focus on ecological resilience, regenerative economy and sustainable development in Northeast India and the Eastern Himalayan region.

Different institutions in Assam will host thematic discussions during Naturenomics Week. TISS Guwahati will focus on indigenous communities and cultural futures, while Cotton University will lead discussions on forests and biodiversity.

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati will host sessions on water and energy futures. Gauhati University will focus on sustainable land futures, while Assam Royal Global University will discuss green technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The event will also feature sustainability exhibitions, technology demonstrations, green economy showcases and social entrepreneurship initiatives.

Over the last 13 years, EHNF has become a major platform for discussions on ecology, economy, conservation and community-led development in the Eastern Himalayan region.

Previous editions of the forum saw participation from organisations such as TERI, ICIMOD, Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation and Royal University of Bhutan along with major companies including HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, JSW Energy, Tata Power and The Coca-Cola Company.

The foundation said EHNF 2026 aims to strengthen collaboration among institutions and position Northeast India as a key voice in sustainability and climate resilience discussions.
