Guwahati: The IQAC of West Guwahati College of Education celebrated National Handloom Day in the college hall with the theme “Weaving Innovation into Tradition.” The program highlighted India’s rich handloom heritage and the role of innovation in preserving it.
Students took part in a group discussion on the cultural and economic value of handlooms, and a short documentary showcased the weaving process of Assam’s golden muga silk. The event promoted awareness on sustainable practices and the need to support local artisans.
