Guwahati: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Guwahati, has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the “Post Malone Live in Musical Concert” scheduled on December 8 at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara. The restrictions aim to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety as thousands are expected to attend the event.
According to the advisory, the movement of commercial and slow-moving vehicles will be restricted from 10 AM onwards in several key stretches, including Sixmile to Khanapara Rotary, Sixmile to Jayanagar Chariali via Balughat Tripura Goli, Beltola Tiniali to Jayanagar, and the service roads around Khanapara Rotary to Basistha underpass.
From 3 PM until the concert ends, traffic will be further regulated around NH-27, especially at Prison Gate Point, Vivanta Hotel stretch, Koinadhara Point, and the APSC office point near Khanapara.
The city police have also declared multiple no-parking zones, covering major roads such as Sixmile to Khanapara, Sixmile to Jayanagar, Jayanagar to APSC point, NH-27 service roads from Tripura Gali to Balu Ghat, and the entire stretch between Khanapara Rotary and Greenwood Resort.
To ease congestion, designated parking areas have been arranged for visitors arriving from different directions. These include the Veterinary Farm Gate and Agriculture Campus for those coming from Ganeshguri side; the Indian Oil petrol pump and Mukut Parking for those arriving from Sonapur/Jorabat; and several locations along NH-27 and Beltola for visitors from Jayanagar, Hatigaon, and Basistha. Additional two-wheeler parking will be available at Beltola Bihutoli, Veterinary College campus, and Kirloskar Engineering, Jayanagar.
Authorities confirmed that emergency services—including fire tenders, ambulances, oxygen carriers, and school buses—will not be affected. Citizens have been advised to use the Foot Over Bridge near Vivanta Hotel while crossing GS Road and to follow Guwahati Traffic Police’s social media handles for real-time updates.
The traffic restrictions will remain in place throughout the duration of the concert to ensure the safety and convenience of both concertgoers and city residents.
