Guwahati: Dr. Bala Rajasekhar Chandra, a senior consultant neuro and spine surgeon at Yashoda Hospitals, Hitech City, Hyderabad, will now visit Guwahati every month on the first Tuesday and Wednesday. He will see patients at Ultracare Diagnostic Centre, Guwahati.
Dr. Bala completed his neurosurgery training at PGI Chandigarh, one of India’s top medical institutes. With 15 years of experience, he has performed over 7,500 surgeries.
He is a leading expert in endoscopic spine surgery, having done more than 1,000 such surgeries. These advanced procedures are done without anaesthesia, and patients can talk to the surgeon during the operation. He also teaches this unique technique to young neurosurgeons.
Dr. Bala also specializes in endoscopic brain surgery and awake craniotomy, where brain operations are done while the patient is awake. He has successfully operated on many patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, and spine and brain injuries.
