Guwahati: A meaningful session on “Healing, Support and Positive Living” was held at Apna Ghar, Guwahati, run by the Intas Foundation, on Monday. The programme aimed to promote emotional well-being and positive thinking among cancer patients and their caregivers.

The session was led by Hirakjyoti Das, Professor of B. Barooah College, who spent time with the residents of the transit home and interacted with them.

During the session, cancer patients and their caregivers were encouraged to openly share their experiences, treatment challenges and emotional struggles. The programme created a safe and supportive environment where participants could talk freely and listen to each other.

Speaking at the session, Hirakjyoti Das highlighted the importance of hope, inner strength and emotional support while facing cancer and its treatment. He also shared some simple ideas to stay mentally strong. These included keeping the mind active, staying connected with friends and family, practicing gratitude and finding small moments of joy in daily life.

The session also focused on the important role of caregivers. They were thanked for their support and dedication to patients. Mr. Das also advised caregivers to take care of their own emotional health while supporting their loved ones.

The programme included motivational messages and real-life examples that encouraged participants to stay positive and strong during difficult times.

Many patients and caregivers actively took part in the discussion. They shared their personal stories and spoke about how they try to stay hopeful in their daily lives.

Organisers said the session helped reduce stress, build confidence and create a sense of support among patients and caregivers staying at Apna Ghar.

The event ended on a positive note with participants expressing hope and gratitude for the opportunity to share their feelings and learn ways to live with strength and positivity.
