‘Sangbadikor Dristit Zubeen Garg’ Released in Guwahati

Guwahati: The much-awaited book ‘Sangbadikor Dristit Zubeen Garg’ was released on Monday at the Guwahati Press Club. The event was attended by leading journalists, writers, cultural activists and admirers of the late music icon Zubeen Garg.

Edited by journalist–writer–filmmaker Hemanta Sharma, the 384-page book brings together 96 articles by 96 journalists, offering diverse perspectives on Zubeen Garg’s life, art and influence. Sharma said the book is “not just a collection, but a document of time, society and the artist’s inner journey.”

The book was unveiled by noted personalities including Phanindra Kumar Dev Choudhury, senior journalist Ashwini Baruah, Bitopan Borborah, Gautam Sharma, senior OIL official Pankaj Kumar Goswami, and USTM proprietor Mahbubul Haque.

Speakers at the event noted that the book presents Zubeen not merely as a musician but as a symbol of Assam’s collective emotions and cultural identity. They expressed hope that the volume will serve as a valuable reference for future studies on Assamese music, culture and media.
