Guwahati: City-based Marwari Hospitals on Thursday organised a press meet at the Guwahati Press Club to create awareness about heart diseases and the facilities available at its Super Specialty Cardiology Department.
The press meet was addressed by Dr. J.P. Sarma, Director – Medical Services, and Dr. Kartik Jaiswal, Cardiologist of Marwari Hospitals.
During the interaction, Dr. Kartik Jaiswal spoke in detail about cardiac awareness, heart attacks and various heart-related diseases. He explained different cardiology procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, single-chamber pacemaker implantation and double-chamber pacemaker implantation.
Dr. Jaiswal informed that Marwari Hospitals regularly conducts cardiology investigations like ECG, ECHO, Stress ECHO, TMT and Holter monitoring. He appealed to people to undergo timely check-ups if they have any doubt or symptoms related to heart problems. Emphasising the importance of heart health, he said the heart is one of the most vital organs of the human body and should never be neglected.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. J.P. Sarma said that awareness about heart diseases is extremely important, as cardiac problems can be life-threatening. He urged people to take heart-related symptoms seriously and seek medical attention at the earliest.
Dr. Sarma also stated that cardiology investigations and procedures at Marwari Hospitals are offered at very nominal and affordable rates, so that poor and common people can avail quality treatment. He added that the hospital, being a charitable institution, always focuses on providing affordable healthcare across all departments.
He further informed that apart from cardiology, Marwari Hospitals’ Super Specialty wing also includes Nephrology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Urology departments. He also mentioned that a helium-free MRI machine has recently been added to the Radiology Department, and the MRI test is available at the lowest cost in the city.
