Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals completed an emotional homecoming at the IPL 2026 Auction by signing Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi for ₹7.2 crore. Bishnoi, who hails from Jodhpur, returns to the franchise that played a key role in his early cricket journey.
The Royals identified Bishnoi as a priority target and moved quickly in a competitive auction. The franchise outbid rivals to bring the Rajasthan-born spinner back to represent his home state in the IPL.
Reacting to the move, Ravi Bishnoi said playing for Rajasthan Royals feels special. “Playing for Rajasthan Royals will feel like playing at home. I started my cricket journey here at RR, and now representing a team that carries the name of my state means a lot to me,” he said.
Rajasthan Royals Lead Owner Manoj Badale welcomed Bishnoi’s return and praised his qualities. “Ravi is a special talent and someone our fans wanted to see back in Royals colours. His return feels like a true homecoming. He is a highly skilled bowler, an excellent fielder, and a player who shows the hunger and spirit we value at this franchise,” Badale said.
Bishnoi adds strength to the Royals’ bowling attack, especially in the middle overs. His quick arm action and sharp turn make him effective against top batters. The leg-spinner has taken 72 wickets in 77 IPL matches with an economy rate of 8.21, showing his ability to perform under pressure.
With Bishnoi’s return, Rajasthan Royals have added experience, local pride, and match-winning potential to their squad ahead of IPL 2026.
