Guwahati’s Satpukhuri Water Supply to Halt for Two Days

Guwahati – The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has announced a two-day suspension of water supply from the Satpukhuri plant, starting Tuesday, due to critical restoration work at the plant’s intake point. This temporary halt is set to impact around 15,000 households across 16 localities in Guwahati.

The affected areas include Uzanbazar, Guwahati Club, Silpukhuri, Chandmari, Govt. Press area, Kharghuli, Housing Colony, Krishnanagar, Nizarapar, Kanwachal, Nabagiri, Pensionpara, Milanpur, Nabagraha area, Udaigiri, and the Chitrachal hill area. The Satpukhuri plant, which supplies 22.5 million liters of water daily, serves as a primary water source for these neighborhoods.

Residents in these areas are advised to store adequate water ahead of the suspension period to minimize inconvenience. The GMC has assured that water supply will resume promptly upon the completion of the restoration work.
