Guwahati: A dentist from Guwahati, Assam, has made history with a double win at a major international competition.
Dr. Adil Lyngdoh won second place in two categories at the ASEAN Dentistry 2025 Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He topped experts in both the Endodontics (root canal treatment) and Re-Endodontics (repeat root canal treatment) fields.
The event on November 22 saw over 3,000 dentists, professors, and experts from across Asia. Dr. Lyngdoh was the only dentist from India to win a prize in these categories. He is also the only winner from Assam and Northeast India.
“This feels surreal,” said Dr. Lyngdoh. “The competition was very strong. This is a very important moment in my career.”
The wins put a spotlight on the high quality of dental care coming from India. Dr. Lyngdoh’s success shows that Indian dentists are among the best in Asia.
The awards ceremony took place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
