GSA’s 15-Day Summer Football Camp Concludes, Empowering Young Talents
Guwahati: A 15-day Summer Football Camp, organised by the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA), successfully concluded on Sunday at Nehru Stadium, offering structured training and exposure to budding footballers from across the region.
A total of 96 participants, aged between 10 and 15 years, took part in the camp, including players affiliated with various local clubs. The initiative aimed to foster young talent through professional coaching and focused skill development.
The training was spearheaded by renowned coach Swan Thapa, supported by Ashok Ramchiary, Sanju Sahi, Jackson Chakma, Chan Jalil, and Dipti Hazarika Basumatari—each bringing valuable experience to the programme.
At the closing ceremony, several dignitaries from Assam’s footballing community graced the occasion. Notable attendees included veteran footballer Bijoy Sonowal, GSA Senior Vice President Bhola Boro, Joint Secretary Sajjad Zaheer Hussain, Football Sports Secretary L. Pranab Sing, Athletics Secretary Raghavendra Majumdar, and executive members Anna Swargiary, Ijaj Ulla, and Pramod Rajbangshi. GSA CEO Munin Nobis was also present.
The camp forms part of GSA’s broader commitment to grassroots football development, aiming to identify and nurture future stars through regular camps, coaching clinics, and tournaments.
